The Ministry of Fisheries and Aquaculture launched in 2024 the new Unified Panel of the General Register of Fishing ActivitiesThe tool gathers data from the PesqBrasil and General Fishing Activity Register (SISRGP) systems, which includes data on professional, artisanal, and industrial fishermen; fishing vessels; fishing shipowners; fishing companies and aquaculture farmers.
The Unified Dashboard's features include the ability to apply integrated filters to information such as the number of fishermen per municipality, gender, area of operation, vessel characteristics, equipment, permit type, and more. The data is also available for download from the Dashboard itself, allowing citizens to access and utilize the available information, providing greater data transparency.
On the panel you can see, for example, that fishing in Brazil has more than 1 million registered professionals., the vast majority of artisanal fishermen, with Maranhão being the state with the largest number of registered fishermen (more than 260 thousand).
The information on the Unified Dashboard is public and available for access by society and in compliance with the General Data Protection Law, No. 13,709/2018 (LGPD), which deals with the protection of personal data.
